Stephen Kang is a curious director. His short film, Blue, tells the odd and tragic story of an old famous TV show character (imagine Pokemon!) who is now a waiter in a small restaurant. But where the idea of this plot comes from is even more surprising: the death of a Korean folk singing band member in an accident in Canada, the country he emigrated to. To understand the connection between both, the best option is to meet this director born in Korea and settled down in New Zealand since his studies in video and fine arts. His previous works (Dream Preserved in 2006 and Desert in 2010) were already acclaimed in festivals.
